William John Hake (1850-1924) held a Pilot position at Macquarie Harbour in 1895 before becoming Harbour Master and then Master Warden of the Strahan Marine Board.
This book provides not only a narrative about Captain Hake, but also provides and insight into Strahan during the early 1900s.
